WanderingImaginary photographs
You find a camera sitting alone. There is no sign of who it belongs to or how long it has been there. You pick it up and put your eye to the viewfinder to see what’s inside.
This project is a series of photographs taken in the city of Eindhoven, around the theme of Wandering. To wander is to explore and move without a specific destination. It is not only a wandering through a space, but a wandering through the mind. Despite being among others in the public, it can be a lonely experience. The architecture around us becomes more apparent and the buildings start to take on characters of their own. Alone with our thoughts, our surroundings can morph and change through our imagination. Sometimes daydreaming impossible structures and other times coming back to reality.
Through camera tracking and image editing, this project is an exercise in making current street photography explore a feeling of nostalgia and what it would be like if we could visualise our imagination in an urban environment.
